Could this be acid reflux, GERD, LPR, etc..

I've always had digestion problems along with heart burn and typical acid reflux symptoms. There are some specific unusual symptoms that I'm not sure are related to this or not.

For example, can acid reflux cause flu-like symptoms, sometimes my body aches all over, especially under my ribs and back. Whenever I wake up in the morning my nose is stuffed up and I have a soar throat, I've been to an ENT and I've ruled out allergies, infection, etc.. Also if I take a deep breath in through my nose it burns and I have constant head pressure. It seems to me my body is highly acidic and it is causing aching all over.

Also if I'm standing for a while I start to get this pressure/pulsing just below my breast bone above my stomach and if I touch it it's really painfull, then when I sit down and eat it goes away, I'm thinking this is reflux related too. Any suggestions or ideas as to what is causing this, especially the flu symptoms would be much appreciated!

The pain under your ribs and in your back, along with the congestion in the morning and sore throat are both common LPR symptoms.

Are you doing anything to treat your acid reflux?

Right now I'm not taking anything, although I was taking Losec, I found it didn't work that great and it costs too much...I'm thinking about getting reffered to a specialist, but I'm already waiting to see a urologist because I have very foamy urine/high protein levels, could that also be linked?

Also I find I wake up through the night alot, is this also a common symptom of acid reflux, I figure its the acid getting up in my throat/nose and waking me up, sleep apnea?

I stopped taking meRAB a few months ago since I've been thru them all the past 10 yrs. At first Dr's switched me back and forth but like you, they were expensive and weren't working anymore. I have a lot of your same symptoms and find when I sit down and eat....I'm fine. Even better. Of course, it doesn't last and I have the coughing and sinus pressure in my throat and nose later and especially if I'm real active or lifting and bending. If may try other meRAB as there are plenty out there but I do think they stop working after awhile. In my case, they helped my stomach problems but the LPR is much harder to control. Good Luck.

Probably more than likely gerd.I have the pain under my right breast on the bone, alot of times the pain goes around to my back and causes a slight aching pain. The pain in my back is usually on the same side as the pain under the breast on the bone.Take care.:(

I have a hard time swallowing sometimes where food gets stuck in my throat, no matter how small the piece of food is. Along with that comes a burning sensation in my throat and the heart burn feeling. No matter how much water I drink it is hard to get the food down. At first it happened only once in a while and now it is much more regularly. could THIS be GERD or acid refulx ? I have an appointment with my GP next week so I will address this with him. I am on high blood pressue meRAB, lipitor as well as chronic pain meRAB. Could it be the meRAB ?
