Could these people find where I live from our online communications?

I had talked extensively two a couple people over the span of about a year and never really felt worried. Except now I feel vulnerable since we no longer talk. I don't know them personally so I really don't know how safe it was.

They only know my first name and the capital of the state I live in. I told them I live there but I really live several miles out.
