I work with cleaning agents and noticed one that always worked before had stopped working.
Though I know that bottle was probably just old, it made me wonder...Could the very atoms that make up our world, change. Like if hydrogen atoms weren't always exactly the same because at a much deeper level the universe is constantly evolving? Thus, molecules themselves, and mixtures and compounds become ever so slightly different? and sometimes just the slightest difference could make a huge change in a compound or mixtures properties?
example; lol; 1+1 sometimes equals 1.9999999999
thanks bryan. and the answer to your question is; the kind where you just can't find anything new to blow your mind so you make up stuff to see what happens.
contamination? you may be right! $40 down the drain(but not literally)
