Could swallowing excessive amounts of mucus cause bloating?

OK here's the story. I've had chronic post-nasal drip for a long time now due to unknown allergies, although, it's probably because of mold, pollen and all that crap.

Anyways, I was wondering if swallowing mucus could cause my stomach to bloat. Ever since these allergies my stomach has been bloated and I think its because I swallow the stuff.

When I press on my stomach, I get an uncomfortable pain, kinda like I'm constipated but I don't think I am. Also if I press on my stomach, I hear a loud "swoosh" of liquid washing around in there. could that be the mucus or could mucus cause me to retain water or bloat in ANY way??

It's also the amount of air you take in from constantly swallowing...because it's more with intent and probably "snorking" than normal swallowing.

You could consider to add a sinus wash such as with the neti pot. Take Sudafed to help open your sinuses.

Change your diet somewhat...some fooRAB can contribute to that.

Take in enough water during the day.

ARe you on any medications? Some can contribute to thickening of saliva and dryness in the mouth and sinuses.
