could sunlight be the answer?

I was thinking more exposure to sunlight could help because the sun dries up your face and provides Vitamin D.

Well, this is a tricky one. To be honest, yes, sunlight can possibly help with acne. On the other hand, it can cause more aging and a higher risk of skin cancer in the long run. Also, when you stop going in the sun so much, the skin may produce more oil to make up for any dryness. I can honestly say in my own experience, my skin was PERFECTLY clear when I used to go to the tanning salon very often. It was never perfectly clear before. I moisturized a lot and my skin looked its best it ever has. I stopped going to prevent skin damage and my skin acts up again quite often. It has its benefits but has its risks too, so it's not the best way to go to get clear skin. I miss going, but I didn't want to put myself at risk for cancer.

Tanning once a week has proved very beneficial to me. As long as you dont overdue it you'll be fine.

I have dark patches and marks from acne on my skin. I was told by my derm. to avoid the sun, and to basically live in Sunscreen. It makes the pigment darker.
