An Earth science class left pan of water outside in the open air to measure the rate of evaporation. For water to be lost by evaporation, the air temperature must be above

(1) the dew point of the atmosphere
(2) the freezing point of water
(3) the boiling temperature of water
(4) the average annual temperature

dont quote me on the answer but i believe it has to do with the dew point and temp of surrounding air. #2, does not make sense to me at this time. hope this helps.
