My boyfriend and I were thinking on getting a newt, and I was just wondering a few things such as:

Approximately how much would one cost?
What's needed for it?
What types make the best pets?
Approximately how long do they live?

If anyone has any personal experiences with newts, good or bad, could you please share. It'd be greatly appreciated.

If it helps, to estimate the price, I live in Nova Scotia, Canada.
