Could pregnancy test be false?

I am 20 years old I was not planning for a baby but if I am pregnant I am more than capable of taking care of a child... better than most 30 year olds I am okay with money and have been in a relationship with my fiance for 3 years living together almost the entire time.... so please no hateful posts that I'm not ready. Last night I was noticing blue veins on my breast that I hadn't noticed before so after researching I heard that it could be a sign of pregnancy. I have an irregular period. ( last month I had a 54 day cycle) so with no way of telling if it was even too early to test I took a hpt... the result was a very faint positive... I was just wondering if this test could be false
