I just got a parakeet today. It seems fairly young bc the bands go from it's cere all the way down it's neck. I know most parakeets will fly around when you stick your hand in their cage, but, this bird just kinda sits there. It makes no attempt to try to get away. The bird will get onto your finger. It doesn't try to bite or anything. Occasionally it will fly off my finger but willingly hops right back on. I've never seen a bird act so "calm" esp not a parakeet. Is it just stress from coming home? Could the bird be sick? I've tried to research online but I've found no answers. I'm hoping someone here could offer me some sound advice.
