Well, while my parents were in the process of getting divorced (They are now) my mother opened a credit card in my father's name (Which from what I understand is illegal) and went on a spending spree WITH her boyfriend, that racked up to about $ 30,000! Now my dad has been getting calls for all this debt that my mom accumulated. And she refuses to even consider talking to the creditors!
Now they are going to court this week for this, and another custody battle over me and my brother. Can my mom go to jail for this fraud?
I know this sounds bad, but if she goes to jail, it would just be so much easier for me to move with my dad.
I have wanted to move with him forever, but every time I brought this up with my mom, she would get drunk and accuse me of things, and make me feel so guilty that I wanted to move. I'm just so tired of her games, she's never home, and she goes on trip with her boyfriend ALL the time with just enough money to get by to eat. (Our cousin watches us) Her boyfriend is her first priority, and she has made that VERY clear! I just can't take this anymore, so I want to know. Can my mom go to jail for this fraud? And if she did, would my dad gain custody of us? Even though I'm going to say where I want to live.
