Well, basically when my parents were in the process of getting divorces (They are now) my mother opened a credit card in my father's name and went out and spent $30,000 on cars, with her boyfriend. She refuses to speak to the creditors that are now harassing my father for the debt. She has been getting on Craig's List, and making ads that just tear my father's reputation down. Now, this week my parents are going to court for this! And we are having another custody battle on top of it. My mother is irresponsible, and her first priority is her boyfriend. She's never home either, and we don't have a/c in our house so it is unbearably hot.
My dad had to move 800 miles away because of his job, but I wanted him to go, because he was moving to a place that I loved. Now he is coming to get us! I really want to get out of this hell hole, and so does my brother!
Every time I have brought this issue up to my mom, she gets drunk and cries, and tells me how ungrateful, and unappreciative I am. I feel so guilty from it too.
She has lost all her friends, since she has slept with one of there boyfriends, and she flipped out on another great friend who had helped us pour out all the alcohol in the house because my mom was going to come home and get drunk. Our house is falling apart. And I hate it here, but lately (especially now that the court date is coming up) she has been acting a lot nicer to me, and not "gone" so much..though she still goes on week long trips with her boyfriend every other week. She will leave us with just enough money for groceries and gas. Now I feel bad, but I have to do this.
I know what she did was illegal, but could she go to jail for it? I don't know if they are going to civil or criminal court...and I hate to say this, since this is my mom we are talking about, but if she went to jail, it would be so much easier to just go with my dad, because custody would just be granted to my father.
