My girlfriend is on BC, but she had some yeast infection so she took some pill for it then supposedly makes the BC less effective. 3 days after she took the pill for the infection we had unprotected sex. The next day she took her BC a few hours late. 3 days after sex she went to a clinic where she went to get the morning after pill just to make sure but a she explained what happened to someone there and a nurse there said everything would be fine and that she didnt need to take the morning after pill. It's been about 5 days since we had sex and she was supposed to get her period the other day and hasn't gotten it yet for 2 days so far... I read that sometimes, even on BC, periods can be skipped or late sometimes, which has happened to her before, just rarely though. I also hear that stress causes periods to skip sometimes too and she was pretty stressed out earlier in the week. Could that nurse have been wrong? They sounded pretty sure, but I am still worried since she didn't have her period yet. Could she be pregnant?

haha, my sister got pregnant with twins when she took antibiotics on the pill. congrats dad

she could be, but if she has been on the pill for a while there should be enough in her system for her not to get pregnant. However, some girls and some guys are extra fertile and could still get pregnant.

She COULD be because nothing is 100 percent effective, but it is very unlikely. The nurse is right on.

Get her to do a test just to make sure. You CAN get pregnant while on birth control. I am quite shocked that the nurse denied her the morning after pill, weird. Good luck!

There is always a possibility you can get pregnant when having unprotected sex. She probably isnt pregnant though and like you said it could just be stress or the fact that her medication caused her period to be late...dont worry so much and if it's bothering you too much just go to the store and get a HPT and that should clear things up for you....GOOD LUCK!!!!

You say she had a yeast infection, if she took antibiotics for the infection it's possible that she could have become pregnant. Some antibiotics can effect the potency of certain types of birth control and not make it work. If you're that worried, have her take a couple pregnancy tests and ask her to go to the doctors to make sure.i hope everything works out. :)

The nurse could be wrong, but more than likely she knows what she's talking about. As you've already heard, stress can wreak havoc with a woman's menstrual cycle so it's entirely possible she's late or skipping because you're both so worried right now. Difficult as it is (and I'll bet you both already know this...) only thing you really can do at this point is try to destress, wait about a week and take an ept if she's still waiting for her period. Something you and your girl should bear in mind in the event of a future mishap with b/c is that plan b should be taken as soon as possible and becomes much less effective as you wait longer.
