PLEASE READ FIRST: Hi, everyone! I decided I'm going to include a mix CD in a wedding present I'm giving to my friend and her fiancé. Another friend of mine has LightScribe, so I'm going to burn a poem on the top of the CD, a poem that has all the track names written into it. This has all the potential to be really cheesy, so I wanted to get an opinion or two before I do that. I want the poem to be realistic and optimistic. If anything comes across as really awkward wording, it may be because there is a song title there, but please let me know so I can reword it. Here it is:

these are songs about love in real life, the love that is cute and funny and ridiculous but lasts through every setback and heartbreak. equal parts spontaneity and tenacity. it is both spur-of-the-moment and forever. at first it’s a simple crush. you’re my flame. mutual friends and interests turn into joy and laughter, and differences are springboards for conversation. i can’t think when she’s near. i wonder if he noticed me. undiscovered soulmates. it soon becomes more than a crush. life blooms a refreshing green, blue skies and butterflies, a thousand winters melting. you’re cute, and then you’re too marvellous for words. something happens, something in the human condition fades the colours and silences the birds. we’re not about to give up, but something hurts. we can’t help but feel strange and unprepared. this won’t last long if we face it together. don’t cry, baby. this situation won’t last long. i concentrate on you. soon, the incident has passed and the spark returns. once again i find myself magnetically drawn to anything you say. we reminisce about a melody, the memory of our first years. when we are old and grey and living in rocking chairs, we still hold each other’s hand. today is us, forever.
