The past couple of days have been almost unbearable. Huge "lump" in throat, lots of saliva, pressure, sore throat, gas, stomach pain, and achy legs. Last year at this very same time (Noveraber) I posted in this board with the same symptoms. Although I always have some of this going on, it seems that it escalates and becomes seriously bad when the weather turns from warm or mild to cold and damp. Probably just coincidence, but seems like I felt reasonably good all through the spring and summer. Not perfect, but if I was careful about what I ate or drank, I was functioning okay. I am eating NOTHING any different from last month or month before.
The Prilosec's and Pepcid's work a little, but always cause me to be badly constipated so I dread taking them again. Remeraber that old Alka Seltzer commercial, "Pop, pop, fizz, fizz - oh what a relief it is!" Well, I got up last night and had a couple of Alkies, and they gave me no relief at all.
Just wondering if anyone else is worse since the weather has turned?

Oops, I messed up! I wanted to say that each year at this time I have an attack. I'm having a terrible one now where almost anything I eat gives me hearburn/reflux. I'm on a PPI which during the attacks does absolutely nothing. I'm taking Carafate now but can usually get off it when the flare passes. During the spring and summer I had a great time with little trouble. I was able to eat many fooRAB I probably shouldn't have but now, out of the blue I've had an unbearable attack. I see my doctor tomorrow to discuss this. I just hope and pray I can get it under control. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

Just to add insult to injury to my LPR, mucous, etc. This morning I ate a bland breakfast of oatmeal and honey with no milk. Then I went to swallow two vitamin C capsules together, which I do every morning. One went down per usual, but the other one stuck sideways in my throat - just around the tonsil area. You can just imagine how awful it feels, and is taking forever to dissolve. I feel like I want to throw it up, but aftraid to. Sorry, I know it sounRAB gross.

Late Fall is the worst for me. Besides reflux/LPR getting worse I get more IBS, and my rosacea is flaring up like crazy. My cheeks are bright red and HOT!

I would watch the vitamin C. Everytime I've taken C, my problems flare. Just a thought.

vit C is ok but make sure that it is the PH blanced non acidic one, i take 1/2 tablet a day and im ok with it........

Man can I relate to the change of season thing. I feel like h....! Seriously. From late Septeraber until late Nov. my allergies flare up, I develope a terriable post nasal drip cough for about a month. I take cough syrups, Benadryl and allergra. Just finished 4 bags of cough drops. ugh! and then of course the acid reflux starts acting up. I DO think the change in season cause alot of this. I just want a good snow now that may help end all of my suffering right now. I blame the cutting of the crops down for most of this. Hang in there!
