Could Anime and amerime crossover ever happen?

Is it possible for an Anime show and a anime influenced american cartoon ever do a crossover?

Or will the differences in writing and animation get in a way? If they ever did that, I would prefer if the american show characters spoke english and the Anime spoke Japanize, but I seriously doubt they would do that, everyone would probably speak the same language.

Something like that, but I was referring to taking an esablish american cartoon and an establish Anime, and making a movie togethers using characters from both shows.

Like when Disney and Warner Brothers characters worked together in Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

It's hard enough trying to get rival studios from the same country to work together, let alone rival studios from different countries. Still, anything is possible.

And even if not, there's always fanfiction.

The only way that would happen is if the two properties were equally marketable in both the US and Japan. Disney did something like that with Kingdom Hearts, using established Disney characters and partnering up with the companies behind the Final Fantasy games even though it was a videogame and didn't use any established anime character.s

Probably the closest thing we'll ever see is something like the Kingdom Hearts video game franchise, a co-production between Japan's Square Enix {featuring their characters from various Final Fantasy games},and the American animation company Disney {using characters and worlds from their classic movies/cartoons,plus all new original characters like Sora,Riku, and Kairi}...

So it did use characters from Final Fantasy. Disney is the only brand I can think of that is very popular in Japan that could do such a crossover.

Actually quite a lot of American cartoons are popular in Japan. I'm a bit surprised Japan hasn't tried to make their own Tom and Jerry as it seems to be very popular there.

Ah Master Toon... your Japanese animation hate is so easy to see... but I digress.

Cross-overs of any kind are neat IMO. I especially love Kingdom Hearts because of those cross-over elements.

Some people want to see Goku fight Superman... Some people think Batman fits right into the Big O universe (or vise versa due to the style which is obviously an homage to Batman). Though there really aren't that many combonations that fandom desires (at least there aren't that many logical ones). But people like to see their favorite cartoons interact... Heck that's what made Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue at least slightly ammusing.

Kingdom Hearts is definently the best (perhaps only) example of a Japanese and American franchise cross-over but there are potential for other ones.

Making a co-production doesn't involve anything in particular but I guess an example of a US and Japanese co-production that somewhat crosses over is the upcoming Batman Animatrix-esque project (and The Animatrix for that matter). That's not so much a cross-over as simply adapting an American product to a style which people who don't know any better simply call "anime". In truth the only difference is the animation directors and while each have their own way of doing things they could be working with an American studio and still get the same product.

Same as any other crossover.

The one crossover I stand by as being a brilliant (though terrifying) idea is Fruits Basket meets Invader ZIM.

Well there has already been an anime about the daughter of Superman and Wonderwoman :p

Anyway I've said it before: a Super Robot Wars game (and possible tie in animation) with Megas.

The best way that would work is if, although produced in different countries, both cartoons were animated at the same studio (in Japan). That's the only way I can see it working. CN and CP did the Billy and Mandy/KND crossover completely at Curious Pictures (for the most part anyway, animation was of course done overseas at same studio).

Zim:I will conquer the world and it will meet it's doom!!!!!!!!

Goku:Um,hello? *looks around from his viewpoint* Who's there? *looks down and sees little green dude* Wow,your power level reading is -infinity.

I really haven't seen much of DBZ and I haven't seen Invader Zim for awhile, but that just sounds weird. But fanfics are able to go through the boundaries of different series like that.

Aside from Kingdom Hearts, I can't see a Japanese cartoon crossover with an American cartoon any time soon. There would be a good amount of legal issues to go through and even studios in this country can't create a crossover like this. It would be really cool if they did something like what "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" did and bring all of those characters together, but that might turn out to be too expensive for most studios to want to spend. I just don't think that it will happen outside of fanfics anytime soon, but who knows. Maybe that could change in the future.

Um...I'm pretty sure that wasn't official. If such a crossover like that had truly happened we'd have heard something about it. If anything, they were probably just lookalikes of Naruto characters thrown in as an inside joke, which doesn't count.

If you can post a link, an image or any form of proof, please share.
