Studies prove that Venus used to be like earth.... with water and very similar climatic parallels with earth. But the evaporation of water caused a greenhouse effect which turned it into the hell hole it currently is.
If we keep going at the rate we're going maybe we'll disrupt earth's cycles, get wiped, and some martians 1 billion years from now will be studying earth saying "yeah, earth used to have water and stuff."
