Could a 87 Suzuki lt500r start with bad piston?

Yes it should run.
It all depends on what the problem is with the piston.
It could have a hole in the top put there by a valve.
It could have a bad wrist pin witch holds the piston to the rod.
Could be a bad rod bearring.
To fix this the whole engine should be rebuilt.
Some mickey mouse rebuild shops will fix just that one piston.
Might be better to just get a rebuilt engine.
AAAAAAAAAAAA bunch of money.
Unless the car has a brand new looking body and you want to spend the money on a engine.
I would say thanks but, NO thanks.
