At the moment, I am very sick. But the below description happens to me at random times as well! Even when I feel completely fine. Generally happens in winter, however.
I will be sitting randomly (usually in class) and suddenly have a severe, sharp pain in my throat. There's just a tiny spot that has this pain, as if a needle is done there. It causes me to begin to cough severely - to the point of where tears form and I am all sweaty. I usually can hold it back for only a couple of seconds. I try to hold it as much as possible for this generally happens in public places and everyone begins to stare at me. =[
As soon as I feel as if I can breathe, I try to quickly drink water or eat something or anything to distract my throat. Doesn't seem to work very well.
It's so embarrassing. I'm in the library right now and just had another "attack". I do not have any lung/breathing conditions. And this happens rarely. But when it does begin to happen, it persists throughout a week or so. Once it happens once, it will go on throughout the day and perhaps again in 2 days.
Anyone have any clue as to what this is? I need to get it fixed!
