In an effort to protect my wife's hood of her 2008 Accord EXL I bought the clear bra. It turned out okay, but being the perfectionist I am I did not like that it had some bubbles in the material that were not going away after 4 weeks so I removed it today. IT TOOK OFF THE CLEAR COAT, ABOUT THE SIZE OF A BASKETBALL IN ONE SECTION! THIS IS THE ORIGINAL HONDA PAINT. It makes me sick and now I have to pay to get the hood cleared. What would the average cost be for this? I'm figureing around $200. Does that sound right? Other than that the hood is in perfect shape.
Not to say you're wrong, but they can rough the paint and reclear only. We had this done on the fender and it came out great. So if the paint is not damaged it will only need to be cleared.
Let me mention one more detail. The fender had some minor work a while back on a small section and only that small section needed to be repainted, then the entire fender cleared per the bony owner. I had the same thing done on a key mark on my stang a while back. Only a small section needed to be painted and not blended into the doors, etc. Then clear that section and you're good to go.
