cost of photos behind glass?

i want to put a series of four photos, placed corner to corner to create a larger square shape, behind glass, but not in a frame. i want it so the glass touches the edge of the image and stops right there, so that there is no space around the photo and no frame. i was wondering if this would be a really expensive thing to get done? regardless of size, as i know the bigger it is the more expensive it would be, but just a roundabout price would be really useful. if this helps its for an gallery type setting.
i want it to be bigger than a4 size.
and also, couldnt you just put another layer behind the photo to put the screws in then just hang it?
so that it goes the layer at the back, the photo, then just a sheet of glass over the top?
