I receive immunotherapy shots for my allergies. I've had Cortisone shots for orthopedic issues. I've never heard of anyone who has received Cortisone shots for allergies. From what I have read, Cortisone shots used to be given for allergies, but because of the potential severe side-effects they are rarely ever used for that purpose anymore. The shots tend to wear off after about 6weeks. When I have had severe asthma problems or sinus problems, I have been given oral steroiRAB, like Prednisone, for short durations. Again, they tend not to prescribe these for long-term unless absolutely necessary because of the potential side-effects.
