Coreg and Stomach Aches?

Major Disaster

New member
My wife, long diagnosed with congestive heart failure just recently had a ICD implant and coreg added to her prescriptions. She is gradually titrating up the quantities as per the cardiologist, but is having some discomfort and difficulty with her stomach. It feels like burning. Coreg has a warning to take it with food. Eating food helps, but we can't find guidance about how much food, what kind of foods, what is causing the irritation, should there be foods that she avoids, should the food be mostly liquid, fatty, lots of protein, avoid tomatos, eat alkalai foods, etc. She is tired, recovering from the operation, and having a difficult time, and really doesn't want to re-invent the wheel. Any help out there?
