Cops took a 16-year-old into custody for questioning about Saturday night’s horrific Bryant Park skating rink shooting — as recreation returned to the blood soaked oval less than 12 hours after two people were wounded, one seriously.
Approximately 60-70 skaters — undisturbed by the violence late Saturday night — glazed the rink on W. 40th near Fifth Ave. starting at around 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
"It's very rare that something like that happens," said Betsy Araias, 42, who looped the rink with her 6-year-old daughter Madali. "We're having a great time. I wasn't really worried."
Other skaters were equally undisturbed.
"Statistically the odds that there would be a shooting again are so slim so I would say this is probably the safest place," added Tristian Louis, 42, of Manhattan, who skated with his 8-year-old son Munro.
The care-free attitude was in contrast to the terror of Saturday night at around 11 p.m, when a gunman standing outside the packed rink opened fire, hitting 14-year-old skater Adonis Mera in the back as he looped around the rink.
A second victim, Javier Contreras, 20, was hit in the arm and is expected to recover. He was believed to be the target in a dispute over a Marmot "biggie" jacket, cops said.
The unknown shooter approached Contreras and asked for the jacket, and when Contreras refused, the shooter left the area and returned a few minutes later and fired three shots at skaters on the ice.
Mera’s family fears he may never walk again.
Police released no information about the 16-year-old who was taken into custody Sunday morning.
