Hi,
I just made my first custom flash/splash screen, so I thought I'd share what it looks like. If you don't know what flash screen is, it is that first bright screen with HTC on it (if you are using HTC).
-Please be aware that the installation instruction is for Inspire 4G. It should also be similar or the same for many devices, but please check your own device's methods.
A few important things:
- It may look rather dark, but your phone's brightness is really high for flash/splash screen, so it will look more shiny and vibrant on the phone itself. I had to intentionally make it darker because otherwise, it looks way too bright on the phone's flash screen.
- I made most of this splash screen, except for "the robot sitting on the mouse." The artist who created it is Kirsty Pargeter, and it can be purchased from here:

If you don't know how to install, here's how:
Make sure you have ENG S-OFF.
1.Rename the downloaded .img file to splash.img and put it into sdk/Tools folder
2.Reboot phone into Fastboot USB
3.Open command line and cd to where fastboot.exe is located.
4.Then type
fastboot flash splash1 splash.img
5. Once it's done, reboot by typing.
fastboot reboot
You should now see the custom splash/flash screen.
