Cooking Steak Dinner help?! Inexperienced?

Hey yea so I am cooking a steak dinner for my family tonight, I'm the one who cooks in the house which includes 3 teenagers 1 adult lol, and were all siblings. I'm pretty good at cooking a lot of things, but I have never cooked steak. I have 5 Beef round top steaks? I don't know what they are. Well I know what it is, but not if its a good cut of meat or anything like that. Yea so.....how do I cook them?! Do you have any good recopies?! Well I mean ways to cook it, because they know good food. Bastards XD. Sorry I'm just thinking outloud here. I don't have a lot of ingredients, I have, basil, salt & pepper, olive oil, hot pepper, butter, just basic stuff. Sorry thats probably not helpful. But yes, help would really be appreciated. SHIZ I just saw that it says, sell by Nov 17. Are they still good?! If not I'll have to go and get more. And they have been 100% frozen the entire time.

yes they are still good if they have been frozen so first let them thaw out obviously lol. the simplest way to cook the steak is to fry it. a good tip is always to apply oil to the meat and never the pan. so put oil salt and pepper on your steak and fry on a hot pan to the temperature you like. there is not a lot of fat on round steak so it can dry out easily. personally i like to fry round steak, you could slice it up with onions and other vegetables fry it and make them into a steak sandwich, or you could also braise the steak, this is when you would first seal the meat in a hot pan and then add it to a pot with some liquid and vegetables and cook slowly. the meat will be very tender and really nice!!!
