Nope, I never clean or rinse my steak before cooking it. If I am grilling it, I usually coat it with a bunch of kosher salt on both sides. It seems like there would be too much salt on it, but in reality, when you grill it over a very hot fire, it keeps the outside of the steak from burning. Most of the salt cooks off in the process anyway. I also marinate my steaks sometimes. I usually just put the steaks in a big ziploc bag and add, teriyaki sauce, worchestire sauce, steak sauce, minced garlic, maybe some barbeque sauce and a bit of apple cider vinegar. Squeeze most of the air out and seal it up tight and shake it gently for a minute. Then I marinate it in the fridge over night. Hope this helps, good luck.
