Converting from T3 to TX (have little problem)

I attempted a hotsync of a new TX in order to sync in my last backup from a T3 that's broke. After the hotsync was completed, it looked like everything came over, however the TX's display looks like it thinks it is a closed up T3. The lower third of the screen is blank and there are no visible border controls. I can tap along the bottom edge and get functions to occur but the screen there is blank and I've been unable to get the full screen to appear. Seems to me that some configuration file came over from the T3 backup that is telling the TX to behave wierd.

Is this a known problem with a solution?

Thanks,
Jonathan

If you didn't install the Palm Desktop software for the TX, which would normally allow for your data to come over sans bad things not designed for a TX from the T3, then you might have some applications on the TX that are designed for it.

So, here is what I'd recommend you do:

1. Hard Reset the TX.
2. Before syncing rename the following folder: c:\program files\palm\(username)\backup to backupold. This will prevent any thing from coming over to the TX that is not needed but still allow you to bring over the apps later.
3. Install the TX's desktop.
4. Hot Sync - this will bring your PIM data over.

Download new programs that correspond to your old T3 programs that were added on because the old versions might not (most certainly) are not compatible with the T3.

You'll need the registration numbers and you can pick their corresponding data PDB's out of the backupold folder to maintain any of those records.

But if you simply connected the TX to the PC and started a hot sync and gave it the same user name as the T3 - you will get what you've got and that's a corrupted TX. The only way to clear it is to hard reset it and proceed as outlined above.
