Convert the white background of a png image to transparent?

Hi,

I have a .png image with a white background. I do not have photoshop. How do I convert the white background to a transparent one?

I would also rather not download and install gimp. Ideally there is some online tool, lighter-weight program, or program already built into windows. If gimp is the only other way though, I guess that's that.
