Controversy surrounding the anzac day?

I just wondered why some academics think that Anzac day is not significant anymore and it is time to de-specialize the moment as just another part of war history. I wonder whether the d-day landing is celebrated very nationally in the US or UK.

Australia today is different from old time anyway, and also perhaps australia does not have independence day and hence anzac day seems to be important for nationalistic event?
Okay, Australia is a country which honors their servicemen, but to glorify nationally one of the greatest blunder in history of warfare supposedly done by Churchill at that time does not make any sense.
