Controversial Issues ?

What are some controversial issues that divide the media world? I was reading to different newspapers dealing with the same subject (gay marriage rights), and the intonation was different between the two news sources. The more 'liberal' one had a tone that implied that gay couples were lacking rights, while the more moderate one gave the idea that they already have sufficient rights. The tones were entirely different despite being the same subject. Do you guys know any other issues that might cause division?

Nuclear power is a good one John. This is a really hard assignment, as I'm having trouble looking for two different perspectives in the media concerning these issues.
 
How about nuclear power? It used to be a hot issue until some idiot(s) decided the whole lie of global warming being caused by humans was a bigger issue. There are at least two sides to the issue. On one hand, you have people saying we could use nuclear power to reduce our use of coal, natural gas and oil for heating and electricity. On the other hand you have people who are concerned about the downsides of nuclear like what to do with the toxic nuclear waste, danger of nuclear power plants having melt downs, etc. This issue needs to be addressed more before it is touted as an alternative to fossil fuels.
 
how about the the police use of Tasers, which in my part of the world have been in the news a lot recently, having been responsible, at least in part for several deaths. seems they use them all too easily and have lost the art of the "take-down" even when there are 3 or 4 officers on one suspect, often an unarmed one. Latest was a mother who refused to let go of her baby (there were no threats being made to the baby) so they zapped her with the baby in her arms.
