Contract Cancellation of AT&T Wireless and Iphone?

I have T Mobile I am happy with their service and do not want to switch but I do want the Iphone available only from AT&T can I like sign a 2 year contract at AT&T and get the Iphone and within one month cancel the contract and keep the Iphone get it unlocked and use it on T Mobile ? would this be wise ? any one any better ideas to get the Iphone
