I'm short-sighted (3.5D both eyes). I'm really uncomfortable with wearing glasses while dancing, but without them I can't see the mirror properly 
Therefore, I want to change to contact lenses (CL). The thing is, I live in humid climate area, and it's kind of dusty here. So, as I went to the optician, she nearly forbid me from buying it. She told me that playing sports, dancing etc. would make it more likely that dust gets into my eyes -> higher risk of infection, eye diseases... And, if I insisted on using contact lenses, I'll have to assume my own responsibility. That kind of scared me off; but I never heard that CL were unsuitable for sports. Also, the optician prevented me from buying without actually testing my eyes for sensitivity (she just checked my eyes as for normal glasses). Is it true then? Am I really forbidden to wear CL in this situation?
