Considering T-Mobile - Need convincing

I am a former AT&T customer (13 years) and I am currently trying out Verizon. While the call quality on VZN in nice, I still have no steady reception by my house (1-3 bars fluctuating) while my unlocked phone that has a TELNA sim card in it constantly gets 3 bars on the T-Mobile network.
I use a blackberry primarily for work and mostly email. Checking out the rates for $79.99 I can have unlimited voice and data service on the phone and I can add international data plan as needed when traveling. I do travel a lot domestically (out of the San Francisco area) and internationally and I am wondering how the general level of happiness you guys have with the T-Mobile network.
Thanks for your feedback ....

Good package pricing too!

I've been with T-mobile for over 12 year (started as PowerTel)

1. Customer Service, customer service, Customer service.
2. Wifi Calling
3. No frills - non-nickel and diming data plans - unlimited tethering
4. Availibility to use TMO at home - $10/per month
5. Finally - least expensive plans in town! (my favorite)

I also have used tmobile for about 11-12 years, my very first cell phone company and still and always have been with them to this day. ZERO problems !!! and after reading forums day after day..you really dont hear many complaints and in most cases if there was a complaint tmoblie fixed it. I do have dead zones but usually in farm areas..(Ohio) but i dont really hang around farms so no big deal..anyways, tmobile will not let you down..

Ok, I just tested for signal around the house and with VZN i get -110/-112bdm signal while on my Telna/T-Mobile card he signal is -80dbm. This is huge considering that on my VZN phone I get 1 bar and on my unlocked 8800 I have 3 to 4 bars! Tomorrow I'll test the signal at the office ... but I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnell: better pricing, better signal and better customer service!

TMO just upgraded their 3g to 7.2mbps so you might want to choose a 3G phone. Bold2 or maybe even the Nexus One for $179.00 with a new contract. Something to think about.

I do have an unlocked BB9000 which I would use so I do not have to buy new equipment for now!
I wonder how the Google Nexus 1 data plan would work internationally!

That's cool. You can use the 9000 on TMO, but it will be on Edge not 3G, but, I use my iPhone on TMO and am always on wifi, so it's not that big of a deal for me, since wifi is faster than 3G.

tmo is a great company, best costumer service, competitive rate planes and reasonable phones, with them for about 5 years and happy....until nexus one...but that's another story.

this morning I walked into a TMo store and for $79.99 I got unlimited Data-Text-Phone! Reception at my house is great, a feat that AT&T and VZN could not deliver. I am ok for now on having just EDGE as I have plenty of WiFi networks to use. I might get the 9700 in a few months if business picks-up so I can enjoy some speed.
Will TMo network get bogged down because of the Nexus One as the AT&T did because of the iPhone?
