My little red '96 Grand Am finally died, and I'm looking for a newer car to replace it, and hopefully last me a few years past college (I have 3 to go). I found a 2004 Dodge Neon SXT at a local dealership. The car has 71K on it, and according to the car fax report, has had only 1 owner, and no accidents.
An acquaintance from the Saturn dealership nearby has told me repeatedly that the Dodge Neon's have had problems with the head gasket. I've tried some internet research, but nothing really pops up.
Anyone know anything about this? As a college student, I can't afford to get a car that's going to need a lot of expensive repairs.
