Considering going into dog grooming: advice?

That's Life.

I love bathing, clipping hair (I usually do terrier breeds according to standard), doing nails, cleaning ears, and working with dogs in general. After I groomed my friends dog for free the other day (then did her moms dog too!), I realized that instead of doing it as a hobby--I might actually be good at it and able to make decent money.

Currently, I'm a stay-at-home mom and I have a 4-year liberal arts degree. I was previously considering going back to school to get certified to teach high-school, but now I'm not sure. Any advice from groomers out there?
Yes, terriers are SUPPOSED to be hand-stripped. However, my friends dogs are not show dogs and are merely pets so they choose to clipper them as do many people who cannot afford to have their dogs hand-stripped as most people in the midwest don't even know how to handstrip!
IF I decided to get into dog grooming, I would volunteer while my kid was little over the next year or two and convince someone to train me in exchange for working for free.

Also, grooming to standard isn't that difficult. I usually pull the standard of the AKC listed parent club site with detailed explanation for length of clip and angle, etc. My work usually looks better than most local groomers... I live in suburbia so I am sure its probably different in bigger cities.
