Considering gas prices, do you think Hummers and large SUV's are a bit unnecessary?

Unless you have a buisness, a lot of kids, or have a need for a large SUV.
I keep seeing Hummers and SUV's with drive out tags on them..I would think that more people would be buying cars instead.
