Considering a 1993 EG Classic Thoughts?

I am considering a trade for a '93 Electra Glide Classic w/ 18k miles for my '99 Dyna-Convertable w/ 25k.

I wasn't able to find a lot of information on the older Electra Glides here or for sale to compare prices, but the Blue book is pretty close.

Price aside, should I even be considering a ride from '93?

Common issues I sould be aware of?

Thanks,
Kurt

The only things I would consider is, low mileage for a bike that old may not necessarily mean it's in good condition. A bike that's has been parked for long periods of time can be bad in some cases if not stored properly. The other consideration is, are the miles shown on the odometer correct.

I was nervous about the mileage too. Sounds like the current owner has spent a lot of time keeping up with the maintenance.

The Trans case needed to be replaced, (cracked from overtightened bolt):
"When they got it apart they noticed some wear on a couple of gears and a bearing so I had them replace anything at all that looked suspect" Could this mean a higher mileage bike?

Can I verify mileage with an engine other than with the odometer?

Thanks,
Kurt

Honestly, I would go with something a little bit newer. Lots of good updates since the early 90's. My first touring bike was a 92 FLHS. Nothing wrong with it but then I got a 97, then a 2003, now an 09. I still kick myself in the butt everyday for trading the 03 for the 09.
