Climate change in stages...I'll break this down into steps and you tell me which step you consider to be bogus
1) Thermal energy from the sun hits the earth and is absorbed by plants. Those plants either die and decay, or are eaten by animals who die and decay.
2) Thermal energy from the sun is stored in the chemical bonds of the tissues of plants and animals. When those plants and animals die energy stored in chemical bonds is transformed into complex fluids that are absorbed into the strata of the earth.
3) After millions of years, those complex fluids absorbed by the earth's strata are either converted into gaseous deposits encased in rock, or are exposed to tremendous pressure, resulting in the formation of highly dense hydrocarbon compounds (which we know as the various grades of crude oil which are pumped out of the ground)
4) When these energy dense compounds are refined and used as fuel, the process of ignition causes the release of that energy which was stored in those complex chemical bonds.
5) The energy released from ignition initially drives pistons, turbines, jet-cones, etc, but is then expelled into the atmosphere.
6) Over time, and given a relentless expansion of the use of those energy dense compounds as fuel, the amount of thermal energy in the atmosphere begins to increase. This is due to the fact that thermal energy cannot travel in a vacuum like light energy can so the earth will always be a closed system when it comes to the distribution of thermal energy.
Now, tell me at which point in that argument describing the process of Anthropogenic Climate Pattern Intensification do you see a breakdown in logic?
@ Twurzz - I'm going slow for the sake of the Conservatwits. If I hit them with too much information at once they freeze up and go into ultra-defensive Glenn Beck mode.
