Yes. I have a Sharp 42" LCD. The picture is great but the sound is not good. I probably should have sent the thing back, as at times it was necessary to turn the volume up to maximum, and it was still barely audible. I added Bose speakers. Depending on your configuration (Cable, satellite etc.) you simply connect the audio out to the new speakers. Remember to turn the volume on your TV and/or receiver to the minimum, or if possible turn it off all together. Unfortunately with my configuration I was unable to put everything on one remote and have to use the Bose remote to control the volume with the other one controlling everything else.
