Connecting samsung galexy s2 to pc for wifi?

i have a samsung galexy s2 and it lets me turn my phone into an ap (access point) for other devices to connect but i just got a new pc today free and i dont no if newer computers have wifi in it an i dont no how to check no networks show up in the search but there are no networks here for it find anyway accept the phone can i plug it in with a usb and get internet without a wifi card in the pc
