Connecting a PC to a TV with S-video and RCA, but won't work.?

We've been at this all day trying to figure out how to connect our computer (s video) to our tv (RCA). We have an NVidea 7600 GS card and it supports this sort of thing, but no matter what we do, the TV just won't respond. Its on. Its on the right channel (only has a TV/Vid). We had to use the "force detection" option in the video card because the TV wasn't being detected. We set the resolutions low enough, we set it between clone and dual display. Region is correct. Nothing seems to be working.

As far as the cable goes, we are using a 3 inch 7-pin S video to RCA (female) and then a 4 ft RCA (male) to RCA (male) to plug it into the TV. However, the TV is old. The TV works fine with recent DVD players, etc but I was curious if the TV was just too old for the PC to project its screen to, no matter how we set things up... Now, when I plug the s video in, I can see that the TV is trying to show something (it flickers a bit till the plug is firmly in), but that's it. Nothing else happens besides a blank screen.

Please help!
