I need to write a thesis statement (but confused) about thses prompts but have no idea on where to start..
Prompts:
1.How and why was the collapse of the Western Roman Empire so much more severe (permanent) than the collapse of the Mauryan and Gupta Empires or the Qin and Han Empires?
2.Compare imperial Rome to imperial Han China in terms of three of the following categories: politics, social structures (class, gender, labor systems), economics, religion, and intellectual and technological advances.
3.Compare the social structures and intellectual opportunities and accomplishments of classical Indian, Greco-Roman, and Chinese societies.
4.Pick two classical empires (Unit 2) and explain to what extent their imperial structures were necessitated by internal (domestic) or external (foreign) issues.
5.Chose two belief systems (Hinduism, Christianity, Buddhism, or Islam) and compare the origins, spread and impact on the societies in which they formed.
6.Compare the reasons for the institutions and practices of Japanese and European feudalism. (Why did each region begin to adopt these practices and how were the practices similar and different?)
7.Explain the processes through which Islam became a unifying cultural and economic force in Eurasia and Africa in the post-classical era.
8.Compare the reasons why the governments in Western Europe were organized so differently than those in Eastern Europe in the post-classical era.
Thesis in this format:
Sentence #1: Broad general statement introducing topic – should introduce time period here
Sentence #2: More specific ties to the question – general issues in prompt
Sentence #3: Broad topics (general topics for the answer: political, social, cultural, economic, religious, technology ….)
Sentence #4 & 5: Specific topics to be argued in essay (economics example: increase in trade)
I'm also suppose to list facts (10) that should be argued or discuss in the essay and supports the thesis for each of the prompts..
