hi
a week ago i went to the hospital to find that i have esofagus acid reflux.
well the doctor gave me some text to read about that. i learned that when you have acid reflux you feel pain inside your chest or something. well i fell pain in my guts(left side usually). why is that??

I think people can feel pain in different places as a result of reflux. Sometimes it is "referred pain." That means pain that originates in one place but it is felt elsewhere because nerve pathways "carry" the pain to a different point. Reflux irritates the esophagus and there are all sorts of nerve endings everywhere in that area. That could be the cause as to why you feel your pain not exactly where you would expect.

It sounRAB like they checked you at the hospital and they did not find any other serious problem besides the reflux and irritation.

The doctor has probably prescribed medicine which should help. If you read through the threaRAB here, you can also find other remedies people have used to relieve discomfort. Different things seem to work for different people.

Hope you feel better very soon.

thnx for the reply
the pain started about 21 hours ago but it still hurts. today is the longest symptom for me. usually it last for about 12 hours...so i havent drunk water since yesterday morning. i feel pretty bad

i would like to ask also if injuries make worse the acid reflux effects
i practice martial arts so i get injured frequently
