Hello, I am in a class where I get to build things and take them to a competition to have whatever I build judged and placed compared to other projects. Next year I am thinking about making a Table or a corner desk with a polished concrete top.
(1) Will a normal grinder, like one use in welding, utilize the polishing pads?
(2) Is the process better wet or dry,?
(3) What are the disadvantages and benefits of each?
(4) What is your recommended progression of the grit of pads? (for example starting with a 50 grit pad going to a 100, then 200, 400, 800, 1500, and finally a 3000 grit pad)
(5) What are recommend finishes, like wax or anything else, and what are their advantages and disadvantages?
(6) Of course I also want to know what health precautions should anyone take when polishing concrete?
Thanks for any answers if you can answer one or all questions. Any information given will be use to consider weather or not I will make a project with this type of top.
When answering questions I suggest answering to the question number, thanks.
