i want to use a vector mask for cello to cut it out from the white background

Then, add a gradient adjustment to make the cello opacity on the bottom.
and a gradient mask to affect it’s opacity on the bottom (ONLY THE CELLO). But problem is when i made the gradient adjustment the whole image changed.
