Computer screen flashing from normal white to yellow?

Our computer monitor has begun changing color. Where the white normally is, you can see a flashing between white and a yellowish color. This is very irritating and annoying since the color keeps changing while you are looking at the screen. It sometimes flashes every 3 or 4 seconds and then it will only flash evey 30 seconds, or so, and then longer. There is obvoiusly something wrong. Anyone know what the problem may be and what to do about it?
