Hey guys, I’m looking to start a small computer repair business while I attend college for a business degree. I’m running into a few problems though, such as the fact that this will be run out of an apartment. It probably would not inspire too much confidence in the customer if they had to drop off their computers at an apartment complex. Some of the ideas I’ve had is to offer some kind of a pick-up service, where I would go to the customer’s house/ business and pick up their computer. Another idea I’ve had is to work something out with a local computer repair shop. I would print up a bunch of flyers and on them they would say something like, “Bring this flyer with you for an extra 10% off!” The customer would bring their computer into the local repair shop, the owner would see the flyer, and without telling the customer, call me and tell me to come pick up the computers, take them back to my apartment, fix them, and then take them back to the local repair shop, where the customer could then come and pick them up. (Of course there would have to be some kind of contract) This would continue until I was done with college and had enough capital to get my own location. Any help, opinions, advice, and thoughts would be appreciated greatly. Thanks!
