computer keyboard problems?

every time i go to hit a certain leter 2 times in a row it doesnt alow hit to be hit the 2nd time. i cant even hit delte 2 times in a row it unly alows it to be hit once. how can i fix it, i know its a certain mode on the computer. i know the keyboard isnt broken
