Computer does't recognize LG vx9900

I have tried 2 hook my env up to 2 different computers and with both of them i get nothing! Nothing comes up at all the computer keeps running like nothing is even hooked up to it. I have the usb cable and i downloaded the drivers a couple hundred times and i still get nothing. I have tried turning my phone off and trying again, i have tried turning off the computers and plugging the usb back in and again nothing! I dont know if it is the usb cable or the computers, does anybody have any suggestions? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

i get this error with a verizon issue data cable on my 8500 the cable said its for 8550 9400 and 9900 but wont work for my 8500

if you have bluetooth on your computer you can hook the env up thru a bluetooth serial port, it'd be like hooking it up with a cable only w/o the cable

I have a vx8500 cable that came w/ the prepaid chocolate I bought and it worked fine for the env and every other phone that uses that particular cable.
