Ok, here is my quandary, and I will give you as much background information as I can.
I currently have a 2003 Mitsubishi Galant.
When I bought the car it came with 18 inch rims. The tire size on it is 225/40 R18.
The stock tire size for this car is 205/55 R16.
So these rims are "nice" in that they are expensive - that is the problem. Nebraska (Omaha) roads are CRAP in the winter/spring. Filled with chuck/potholes galore that are destroying these rims.
That means -flat- (low profile) tires. That means expense that I'm frankly sick of dealing with.
So I decided after another tire went flat and another dent in the rim to get some "regular" rims.
I looked up the bolt pattern and offset, and size (16) and went to work.
Well I found some 16 inch rims off a 1995 Dodge Intrepid that I was able to procure for next to nothing. I'd like to load up some tires for the winter/spring months until the roads are decent.
The standard tire size for these rims (unfortunately) come to find out is 225/60 R16. So is this going to present huge problems for me?
I realize it might be a slight speedometer difference, and I know this situation isn't ideal.
Thank you.
